I Sleep in Hitler's Room in NYC

Marianne Hettinger

Born and raised in Augsburg, Germany, Marianne Hettinger already knew at age five she wanted to be a performer after seeing Gene Kelly in the movie "An American in Paris”.

Upon high school graduation she came alone to New York without knowing anybody and only $800 in her pocket. She felt at home right away and studied acting and directing on a scholarship at the National Shakespeare Conservatory.

Since then Marianne has acted in over 20 films including Tim Robbins’ “The Cradle will Rock”, had a recurring role on CBS’ daytime series “As The World Turns”, wrote and performed her one-person-show “Heaven & Earth” and was invited by David Letterman personally to appear with him and Antonio Banderas on the Late Show. Marianne is also a professional ballroom dance champion, having appeared on Broadway and with symphony orchestras across the US and Canada.

As a filmmaker, her first feature “Mango Tango” won several awards at film festivals internationally and will soon be available online through Kinonation on several platforms.

In the spring of 2013 Marianne joined the production company, “vidFame” with Wolfgang Gaebler, former CEO of CDV Software, where she directs and moderates her own TV talk show pilot “Hallo New York”.

Marianne Hettinger resides in New York City and has United States and German citizenship. She is grateful to be in a country where everything feels possible. www.mariannehettinger.com
